On 31 Dec, Xuan, Mummy So and Aunty Yanni met at Changi Village for Mummy's long awaited weekend trip. Aunty YN tried to entice Xuan into eatting crackers~
Xuan got her crackers!
And she ate non-stop throughout the trip..
On the boat, she got a little seasick, as she said herself
But she was still curious about the sea...

It was a beautiful day. Though it rained on mainland S'pore, the weather was superb over the weekend at Pulau Ubin
Upon reaching the island, we found a milipede!

We tried to make it curl up but it didn't..
While waiting for YN to check in, Xuan ate another cracker..
And played peekaboo with mummy!

We took a van to Celestial Resort, then hiked our way out to the jetty again to rent bikes. Xuan saw YN with a cap and wanted to try it on..
Tok a while to adjust cos naughty xuan kept pulling it down!
We saw fiddler crabs and stopped to take photos...
...and mub skippers...
Then saw a green pigeon so quickly took pictures again!
A lonely stork bill kingfisher on the tree...
By the time we reached the jetty, xuan got like 6 HUGE mosquito bites all over her arms and legs! Luckily Aunty Peiting brought rub-on mosquito repellent for her...We got our bikes, had dinner, then cycled back with torches.

That night, xuan took out her books to read
And played with PT's iphone.
After she slept the adults played Monopoly Deal till midnight! Then everyone else went out to look for owls. Mama and Xuan stayed in the room to rest...
Woke up to a beautiful morning...
We had breakfast (breakfast bar and wheat biscuits) on the platform. Chatted with a stranger from Philippines and gave her a biscuit too.
And played with PT's iphone.
After she slept the adults played Monopoly Deal till midnight! Then everyone else went out to look for owls. Mama and Xuan stayed in the room to rest...Woke up to a beautiful morning...

Took a mother and daughter shot before going over to look for Aunty PT who was bird watching.

After breakfast at the resort restaurant, we went cycling/bird watching again.
Xuan got a little bored, so Mama and xuan cycled back to the jetty to get 风油for her bites.
Spotted a hornbill in the trees when we returned.
Took a mother and daughter shot before going over to look for Aunty PT who was bird watching.

At this "kampong" plantation place, Mama saw a grasshopper and took photos while Xuan chatted with Aunty YN.
It was a hot morning, so xuan got drowsy after lunch and napped while the others went to Chek Jawa. When she woke up we cycled to the jetty to have dinner with the others. Only Aunty YN stayed back the second night so the girls had a good talk.

This is how we got around on the island! :)
It was a good recharging trip for Mama So. A good experience too! Though we missed papa and didi alot. Hopefully we'll get to do this as a family next time!
