My little athelte

I'm a track athlete so introducing Xuanxuan to the track is very important to me. There's a stadium right next to my house so there's really no excuse at all. I rolled her to the track once in a while, to just sit there and watch people run by, or stand on the track for a while, or stand on the grass. She doesn't like to stand on the track, or grass, but she does watch the people run by.

I made it a point to myself not to introduce her to running too early cos if she do get too good too early, she'll be so sick of running by secondary school. Stamina is needed for any sport, so I'll definitely take her jogging, but her daddy plays basketball, soccer, I play touch rugby, her uncles play basketball, volleyball, there's badminton court right below our house, and we swim too, so hopefully she'll be exposed to enough sports to be interested :P:P

She can hold her own bottle!

I was soooooo excited when I saw it at her infant care today! :D:D:D

It was her feeding time, and the teacher put her in her rocker chair and gave her the bottle. She put Xuanxuan's hands on the bottle and my baby just started holding it and feeding herself! :D:D My baby has grown up!
I didn't want to distract her, so I discreetly took this photo from the side. According to her teacher, she has been doing this for a while. She usually falls asleep while drinking, so as she dozes off, the teacher will have to continue to hold the bottle for her, if not she will cry when her bottle drops, cos, well, she fell asleep and couldn't hold on anymore.
I guess at the infant care, with abt 5 teachers to abt 12 babies, the older babies are forced to grow up and learn to be more independent cos the teachers can't possibly be holding the bottle for every single baby. According to the teacher, my Melody sometimes 'roam about' in her cot to find a comfortable spot, and then falls asleep on her own. She also drinks water to sleep sometimes. Hmmmm! Why can't she fall asleep on her own at home then? And she is smart enough to reject plain water everytime I try to feed her some. Hmmmm.
All the same, she has reached another milestone in her life to me :):):)

The cousins!

Notice how Xuanxuan is clinging onto my leg while Xiangxiang sits by the side. She's entered the "stranger anxiety" stage and no one, I mean NO ONE can tear her away from me. We're at my dad's place and he tried to carry her, but she started screaming and clawing her way back to me! She clings onto me almost every single second and lets no one else carry her, except her papa, 2 grannies and granddad (paternal).

"Come on, let's go and play!" "What are you doing? No!" heeheehee
It's interesting that Xiangxiang doesn't have this stragner anxiety, yet? It's a joy watching these 2 babies grow up together and the difference between a girl and a boy.

My little drummer

Mama So is very proud of herself for making her baby a drum out of the milk powder tin! Plus 2 Ribena pencils as the drumsticks! :D Who says baby toys are expensive and a waste of money cos they are outgrown so fast? ;)

Rocker Chair

This is the rocker chair that she sits on/in everyday at the infant care. When she first went there at 2+months, she seem to sink into the chair. She's so tiny! The younger babies who haven't started crawling usually sits in the chair all day long (well except when they fall asleep and the caretakers will "transfer" them to the cot) Now, at 8+months, she still sleeps soundly in the chair :):) I'm seriously considering buying one for my next baby.

Chicken Little

At this moment, Xuanxuan's favourite toy is 小鸡, a wound-up toy that goes "ded-ded-ded-ded-ded-ded" forward and little Melody goes chasing after the little chick every time. It's adorable seeing her shuffle awkwardly on her tummy after the little furry thing.
We let her crawl around quite a lot, though "crawl" is not exacly the correct word to use now. She's doing her army leopard crawl and has just graduated from "propelling" herself backwards to moving forward at least :):) Very soon she will start to crawl!
