Mama :):)

Didi is starting to verbalize "mama" whenever he wants to eat or when I move out of his sight. Haha! So thats one for Papa So, one for Mama So (Xuan said "baba" first)

Recently, whenever she spill water/egg yolk on the table/floor, she would ask for a piece of cloth “妈妈布给我"， I would say, "请给我一块布"，she would say "请给我一块布" and try to wipe the stuff herself (though it usually ends up getting messier). I would praise her for her initiative and help her with the cleaning up together :)

Didi shaved botak again! His childcare teacher saw him and went 阿弥陀佛~

奶奶asked xuan: "弟弟的头发好不好看？" Xuan said: “弟弟没有头发". Right on! :D:D

Kids In Charge

Not sure why it's called Kids in charge when the teachers are the ones organising it, but anyway it was a day of fun for the NTUC My First Skool kids at the Jurong Park!

We were last in our round of "2-3 yrs old category relay"! Hahaha!

Xuan drawing "rainbow lines" on her balloon as she calls it. I'm starting to correct the way she holds her pen. Only once a week, when we write letters at her Enrichment Classroom.



Xuan and one of her best friends, Darryl. He's her "outdoor hold hand buddy". Her other best friends are Gigi and Aiqi, all of whom "graduated" from Infant to Toddler group with her. This group of kids will probably go on all the way to K2 together at MFS :):)

Too bad the kids just "pick-up-which-ever-stick-they-like". Teachers at the station said that the older kids can play according to the rules though.

Thank you teachers for such a wonderful day! And though the weather was really hot at first, it became cloudy and windy for the rest of the morning. How amazing to think that next year, I would be part of the organization. AND didi will be in the same class as xuan (toddler-1.5yrs to 2.5yrs- shares the same classroom as Playgroup-2.5 to 3yrs old) :):)

Seperation anxiety

Didi is starting to be aware of ppl and things going on around him. He cries when his "classmates" get picked up by their parents in childcare, cos his parents are not there, and when he loses sight of me at home :):) Xuan used to be like that too.

Enrichment class

Yes, I'm one of those kiasu parents who send their kids to classes before they even start school. But come to think about it, I used to attend art class, swimming class, taekwondo, abacus, tuition and holiday short courses when I was in Primary school. I attended some super ex Maths enrichment class though I was scoring As already. I didn't feel stressed, I felt that my life was fun cos there were so many things to do. I learnt a lot too.

Kids are so full of energy, plus their attention span is so short. Attending classes is just a way to spend time other than reading/running around/playing toys/watching tv and playing computer at home. I think as long as they get to enjoy "home time" a few days a week, it's ok to go out and learn something, make some friends somewhere :P:P

So here's Xuan in new uniform!

I signed her up for the parent and child "reading" programme though she's stable enough to attend the individual class cos saturdays are meant for her to be with her mama and papa. We learnt the letter "C" and "D" with the interactive whiteboard, picture cards, and art and craft.

My greatest reward is being able to watch her apply glue on her paper work. She can paint quite well too, though not very evenly. She automatically started work when the teachers handed her the glue and paper. Guess she has done similar activity numerous times at childcare.

Muffin making!

Xuan's childcare teacher managed to engage them in a session of muffin making! Mama So was supposed to attend the session as it was a parent and child thingy, but I had rehearsals for teachers' day concert in school that afternoon. Sigh...Sacrificing time with my child for work. Plus the pride she'd feel when her mummy comes! This is why at secondary school, we write in our compo, 父母与孩子之间的代沟是“冰冻三尺，非一日之寒”。

Xuan's favourite cds at the moment:

Volumes 1-3 has all the kiddy songs you can ever sing, including the chinese version of "London Bridge", "Old MacDonald had a farm" and even "If you're happy and you know it"! Volume 4 has more adultish songs like 马车夫之恋，凤阳花鼓，杜鹃花etc.

Didi is getting quite greedy. And we can tell whether he wants to eat or not cos he will spit out his pacifier at the sight of food.
